My research examines how message design shapes cognitive and behavioral responses in health communication and patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR), interdisciplinary areas that integrate communication science, public health, and psychology. I investigate the mechanisms through which messages improve health and well-being or produce unintended negative effects. By identifying when, how, and why messages influence outcomes, my work advances theory and informs the design of communication interventions.
